After a day that still had a tad too much sugar in it, although a lot less than previous days, I experimented with some corn spaghetti (I'm always looking for pasta that I can tolerate, being gluten intolerant), and a 1.4 gain wasn't bad. Wheat pasta in the same amounts (a normal sized serving according to the package, 2 oz dry) would have yielded a 3 or 4 pound gain.
